@datphotogurl Can I get the stock photos you would like used? I'd prefer the highest quality of the photo you can find/get.

@kylemh Let me know if these need to be resized for you.
I'll put in some time on this one.

Still working this. Got some mockups in Figma that I am tidying up - will share here before coding.
I'll send you new hi-res images by end of today! Sorry, I've been swamped at work.

No rush, and no worries at all. I got plenty to do lol
@kylemh where are we on this?
untouched! feel free to tackle it!
@michaelDragomir Are you looking to code or design this? I was tackling this before I got laid off, so I have some designs already spun up if you want to use them.
@recondesigns hey man..gonna code it up..i will def need them..we have all the assets? cc: @kylemh
@michaelDragomir I have all of that in my Figma, but I can share that with you. Wanna shoot me your email on the OC Slack?
As far as I'm tracking, there isn't a Figma available for designs and assets for OC. The only thing that might not line up are the fonts (sizes mostly), but I have done some page work before and the global styles are pretty good in the repo.
I'm in the process of assembling a design system for OC in my Figma (for portfolio), and that will include fonts and all other branding.
@recondesigns what's your slack handle?
sick. didn't know about the design! that's helpful.
@michaelDragomir In the OC Slack, it is just "Stedman".
@kylemh For sure, man. I do design and dev. Let me know if you have some ideas about designing anything out. Admittedly, the design for this are pretty "weak" in my opinion. I was super rushed with the layoff and having to jump into freelancing.
working on this..
@datphotogurl the page got added (https://www.operationcode.org/corporate-training), but it's not shown in any navigation. Where do you want to show it in the nav, if at all?
@Kyle Holmberg @.***> Can you put the Corporate Training page under "Services" in the nav drop down? I owe you hi-res images as well. Going to get those now.

@michaelDragomir i'll leave this to you for a follow-up PR 👍🏼
One thing I need to get done for you... is upgrade to Next.js 14 so we can directly import static assets and Next.js can automatically generate us ideal srcSets
for images (in that scenario, I'd probbaly stop using S3 to load image assets and nobody would need to worry about optimizing anything).
@kylemh sweet..i'll open a PR that adds these images as well as adds it to the services nav drop down

Operation Code has provided corporate training for tech employers since 2019. In order to break barriers and blockers for our military community, we must address the implicit and overt biases. Reach out to us if you would like more information on how our military cultural competency training works, if you'd like us to help create a military Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy, provide ongoing professional development or set up a military Employee Resource Group with you: Contact the Partnerships Team. We look forward to hearing from you!
BIAS 1 - All Veterans have PTSD or some form of mental illness
The truth is that 28% of OIF/OEF/OND Vets self-reported one mental health diagnosis (NIH), and more than 1 in 5 adult civilians in the general population live with a mental illness (CDC).
BIAS 2 - Veterans are violent and unsafe to be around
The truth is that TV, movies and sensationalized media propels these violent stereotypes. The truth: the incarceration rate for Vets is lower than for non-Vets (Bureau of Justice Statistics). Access to mental health resources & reducing stigma reduces the rate of criminalization for all.
BIAS 3 - Vets come from low income means, are uneducated or joined out of desperation
Technological, tactical, and strategic planning focuses on raising the bar for recruits. The truth is the majority of new recruits come from median family income & cognitive skills, equal to or greater than civilians (Journal of Strategic Studies).
BIAS 4 - Reserve and National Guard Service Members are part-time warriors and not able to focus on civilian careers
Reserve and National Guard members face a new challenge: bias from civilian coworkers and hiring managers Military.com. The truth: work cultures that promote and support Reserve and NG members retain loyalty, increased productivity & diversity and sets an example for employees to define exemplary service to others.
BIAS 5 - Military and Veteran spouses choose not to work and enjoy being dependents
There are ~ 11.5M military and Veteran spouses. The under-employment and unemployment rate is ~13%, over 3X the national rate [Department of Labor, Women's Bureau] (https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/WB/mib/WB-MilSpouse-factsheet.pdf.) The Truth: to support our Vets, in their return to the civilian workforce, we MUST support their spouses and family members.
