It's a debate we've had quite a few times. We've finally decided to leave it as flexible as possible and even if the issue is closed, leave the reward available. For example, it could be that the issue is closed but hasn't been resolved correctly or there may be cases we don't know about.
What you can do is delete the rewards if no one has previously claimed them. You should have the option to delete them on your dashboard.
Or at least not make it findable from the main / browsing page then. I mean, who wants to try for solving an issue that is currently/likely closed ?

That issue may not be opened and a new one may be created for example.
I have some ideas that might maintain the current flexibility but help to solve this, such as when an issue is closed - if the bot is installed - putting a message to remind that there are unpaid rewards in case they want to remove them in case there is no one who has claimed them.
We are also open to listening to different options so if you have any other ideas to consider, feel free
