Android messages not starting on Linux #389

I am using Ubuntu and messages is not showing up on screen, I can see the process is running in the background but nothing on screen.

Is there a window? A tray icon? Or just a process?

Just a process, I can see the taskbar button for few seconds and then it disappears, there is no tray icon. There was an update last week on Ubuntu and since then it is happening.

Are you on Ubuntu latest or lts?

I am on Kubuntu 22.04 latest but it got upgraded to LTS.

How is the application installed snap or deb?

If possible can you try installing the snap on the releases page and see if it works. I understand if you do not want to use a snap just let me know.

I downloaded the appimage file and it is still not working, background process now.

Looks like it could be electron not compatible with new kernel.
