What links should be included in the navbar?

We need to consider:

[ ] which links to include in the main few links on the navbar
[ ] which links to include in dropdowns (there can't be sub-dropdowns, though), and which links should be dropdowns
[ ] where links should go
[ ] the ordering of these links
[ ] which links to put in the footer (which'll be organised later)

We should have a max of 7 main links/dropdowns, and dropdowns can have as many as we want, but it shouldn't be too much or then it'll be hard to find links

There should be 3 dropdowns: one for parents, students, and staff.

Also, we should look at Terman's navbar for inspiration; they only have four main options and it looks easy to access to me.

Also, what just happened to JLS?!

@SheepTester IMO certain parts of JLS's new website take too much white space Their choice of colors is weird, and they added a hover effect where the word "Go" in a green circle would appear I doubt it follows the material design guidelines or something, since it doesn't really look very pleasing I like that they're improving the webpage though The navbar is annoying me I like their footer design their favicon is sideways they have a box with text inside and the box is only translucent while taking up half of the space the image has The circle at the bottom of the image is large and intruding ahh its annoying me lol They lack icons :( They used text instead of the search button icon Input box for search function is big :/ Also little effect Its like the new youtube redesign

I think the navbar links should be:

STUDENTS
PARENTS
STAFF
PROGRAMS (includes the old athletic program tab)
ACADEMICS
SCHOOL (will essentially be the old about tab, with the directory and calendar tabs included)

For the footer, I think it should just be contact info, phone info, and possibly a link to a google map.

@PooleHenry We should probably take inspiration from Terman's navbar JLS's footer looks nice

I'm going to make a links.js that loads the navbar and footer links for us, so it'll be easier to change

@PooleHenry The footer currently contains contact/phone info and the physical campus address; I like the idea of linking to the location on Google Maps though

However the footer is also designed to include more less used links, so we should probably include more than that.

I have yet another idea; Gunn has some weird "SEC" accounts across social media, so maybe we can include links to those in the footer también.

That sounds good, plus we could add links to the district site or the legal or the school social media. (Sorry I'm on mobile)

I forget if I've included the other social media, so... Google Sites Facebook Instagram Snapchat Twitter YouTube
