[Suggestion] Redstone Strength Indicator #3

Much like the light level indicator, but for varying redstone signal strength. I think it would be cool if you could hotkey the ability and have it show numbers on top of any active redstone signal so you could easily track changes in strength.

I was thinking about this and a hud may not be the best way to go. Reason is that a block could have 6 different redstone signal strengths, one for each block facing. My thought was to use a mechanism similar to the compass and clock whereby a player holding a tool (such as a redstone torch) looking at a block would have the redstone information displayed around the crosshair.

Ah true, I hadn't thought about that. That sounds like it would work perfectly for what I had in mind!
