Also consider wc.pageturner, Flexpaper viewer, collective.pdfjs (updated version?). Must have zoom feature.
collective.documentviewer is installed on the server and is usable at https://plonedev.uwosh.edu/oshkoshscholars/python-brochure-pdf/view and https://plonedev.uwosh.edu/oshkoshscholars/oshkosh-scholar-vol-9-2014/view
Interestingly, these browsers all include PDF viewing features built in: Firefox, Chrome, Safari. Safari's built-in PDF viewer is the least good of the three, and both Firefox and Chrome have quite good built-in PDF viewing!
Try these URLs with each of the three browsers. If any of you have a Windows machine I'd be interested to know if IE has some built-in PDF viewing capabilities and how they compare.

If all four browsers (FF, Chrome, Safari, IE) have good built-in PDF viewing features, is collective.documentviewer necessary on the sites? It does do more things: text extraction, conversion, it'll work with Excel and Word files: more features are listed at https://pypi.python.org/pypi/collective.documentviewer
A couple of big advantages I see so far with collective.documentviewer:
I'm going to go ahead and close this issue.
