Just spotted this from Hadley and Wes (the Python Pandas guy). Feather - a new file format for fast (large) data access in R. I know Bioinfo has too many data formats already but might be handy to work with bigger datasets in R. Could do a syska on this and data.table / bigmemory packages if handling large datasets is worthy of general interest?
I've just found this collection of "study group" lessons from other groups all around the world. Might be handy for ideas / material for ours in the future?

Also wondering if we should polish some of ours up to contribute, some of them have been well documented with Software Carpentry style questions, .e.g.: https://github.com/ttimbers/studyGroup/blob/gh-pages/lessons/2015-07-28_shell/2015-07-28_Int_Shell_lesson.md
Some of you have done a fantastic job on your notes too, I'll be the first to admit, some of mine are poorly commented scripts which would need a lot of work to be useful to other groups.
