Geniatech HDStar Gen3 does not work #28

I have a Geniatech HDStar, how do I check if it's gen2 or gen3?

If you open the device there is a version silk screened on the PCB. The v2/v3 use the same VID/PID so the only way to tell really is if the kernel successfully loads it. V3's have a kernel error about an unexpected register value. On Aug 22, 2014 8:14 AM, "Pedro Pinhão" notifications@github.com wrote:

I've opened mine and the silk screen says SU3000 v1.5

Have you connected it? Does Linux recognize it? What kernel are you running?

I've only encountered rev 2.1 and rev 3.0.

I've opened mine and the silk screen says SU3000 v1.5

Yours says v1.5, but it's actually v3?
