Manually Locate Features on Google Earth Background Map #187

The locate features using the integrated GPS is a useful tool. What I think
would be great is if it were possible to manually locate a feature on a Google
Earth map.

I envision the tool working something like this:
1. You click a button and it takes you to a Google Earth Map view centered on
your current GPS location.
2. You have the ability to zoom and pan, then click on a location for the
feature.
3. The program confirms the location, then takes you back to the form to enter
data about the feature.

This would be useful where you can select a feature on an aerial with greater
accuracy than what the GPS can provide.

I would support the ability to locate a point on a map (not necessarily Google
Earth).

AND

to be able to 'nudge' a suggested point (whether gathered manually, by GPS,
mobile mast location or WiFi location)

I'm interetsed in points adjacent to roads and rivers - so it is important that
the point is 'located' on the correct side!

This would be very handy in cities or areas with bad GPS reception but with
good landmarks.

odk collect v1.1.7 can show your location on a map and will use gps, wifi and
cell tower localization. choosing of a location on a map is not yet supported.
this is primarily because google maps doesn't work offline.
