TurnSignal causes VR crash on Linux #46

I know it’s probably not supported officially, but I wanted to report the issue in case it could help others, and maybe also give a little push for a native build (since this is Unity3D, right?).

I’ve been using TurnSignal with SteamPlay almost since I bought a Valve Index earlier this year. Everything was working fine, but recently I started experimenting crashes in VR, sometimes just SteamVR, sometimes full system freeze. I cannot play very long, I’d say maximum 30minutes before it crashes. Disabling TurnSignal fixes the problem.

I can’t stay when it started exactly but since TurnSignal didn’t get any updates recently, I think it must come from my upgrade to Ubuntu 21.10, which also upgraded the Nvidia driver to 470/495 (I’m using an RTX 3070).

I tried with Proton Experimental and 6.3-8.

Thanks for the heads up,

First, at the moment, TurnSignal is not supported on Linux only because I have literally never tested it myself on it, and never designed it to not run on Windows,

That said, as far as I know, there is nothing explicitly keeping it from being on linux, and having a proper linux build, I can look into this if I have time,

Second, the crash is probably related too having outdated OpenVR libs, and I need to update them, I will do this when I have a chance.

FWIW, I have not been experiencing any crashes using it on Linux. It works just like on Windows.
