You're an owner of the organization, so I don't see how that's possible. I just did a commit successfully.
I've found another tool (called Source Tree) that gives you tools to avoid command line operations or resorting to these hard resets. It's more complicated to set up than the GitHub client, but maybe it's worth it.
In the mean time, try this. Create a new branch for you commits, then do a 'Pull Request' in GitHub. That should do it too. Call me if you have questions.

Got it. It was syncing to a previous folder name. All is well.
