New widget controller cannot be switched off #127

Hovering mouse within the active area of the widget selector causes the list to become visible whether or not the '+' symbol has been clicked on or off. Makes it difficult to manipulate widgets that are within the active zone. See below:

It would be good to have the selector behaviour suppressed when the '+' symbols is clicked.
