This is quite interesting. The kerning info is inside the TTF and OTF files so perhaps MS is just balking at how those instructions were defined by Glyphsapp.

Hello, kerning in Microsoft Office appears to be broken. I've tried on Mac as well as on an older version on Windows. Turning on "Kerning for fonts" in Office doesn't make a difference. Happens with both the OTF and TTF files. Is this something that can be fixed?
