Each market item that you can possibly buy has a supply and demand, that being said, if one castle has a high amount of armor, weapon , or any other item, and one castle does not, this creates a supply and demand dilemma. Sure you can have your master blacksmith and serfs make more, but what's the point of working constantly if you're not making much money? What the Merchant Class/Job can do is see when viewing an item, what the prices are listed at every other place available. So for instance, you’re at Sargoth castle, and heavy halberk armor is going for 8900 with a demand of 10 but a supply of 40-50 halberks. Not only does it not become less profitable to make more halberks, it also means that you’re gonna have to change your means of production. Or new option, you have your local merchant split profit with you, the merchant notices a shortage of heavy halberks at Richfield Village or some other castle. For a transportation fee, or just a percentage, he will travel there and sell them off to that place. Which eventually will create an equilibrium in the market, which for each place can change as wars happen and bandits run around killing, pillaging, and looting. This also means that you can hire caravan guards as mercenaries to defend your cart, which you would also pay them a percentage as well.
