Gamemode & Map Description

  1. Typical CTW for Giga size
  2. Potion battle concept. There are many structures that spawn potions.

The list of potions Spawn Kit - Speed (1m), Instant damage, Milk bucket (for nullifying potion effects) Buff Potions spawners. Haste 2 (1m) Splash Instant Health 2 Regeneration 1 (30s) Leaping 1 (30s) Resistance 2 (9s) Absorption 2(2m) (50% Slower spawning speed than others) Night vision (6m) Haste 1 (2m) Saturation (1m)

Debuff Potions spawners (all splash) Instant Damage 1, Hunger 3 (30s) Mining Fatigue (30s) Slowness (30s) Weakness (30s) Nausea 3 (10s) Blindness 3 (5s)

Wool Room potions Resistance 1 (10s) speed (60s) Absorption 4 (5s) Resistance 4 (5s) (Splash) (Only one per wool room)

Why I made this map? Because I want bad players to be able to do something except just dying by good players. In TDM and KOTF, bad pvp players are only able to die by good players if the map doesn't have some gimmicks. so. there are only 2 options left for new players/bad players. just give up and leave OCC. or learning PVP by using a lot of time. however, considering current minecraft pvp's entry barriers, doing the latter will be extremely difficult. no one wants to waste at least 500+ hours and using a lot of money for uncertainty. So. to attract players on OCC (or to block new player's departure, I'm convinced to make "something that new players can do without pvping". Currently, most of the CTW maps are consisted of "Bridging, Rushing, Defending". These 3 elements are required good physical skills. on Bridging, you should master complex bridging methods, on Rushing, it doesn't have to explain, and. on Defending, you must be good at pvp to defend from good players.

As a result, current normal CTW maps require a tremendous amount of physical abilities, which makes a serious entry barrier for OCC. To solve this problem, bad players should have some roles to contribute to the team, without just dying. By adding 3 types of Debuff potions, even just dying by enemies can be helpful if you threw the powerful debuff potions to lots of enemies. And by adding good buff potions, you can use those potions to buff yourself, or if you think buffing yours are not helpful to the team, just give it to good players, which will be more helpful. even making potion supplies can be helpful.

In addition, these potion battles make a challenge to good players, what if they got blindness 3 for 5 seconds while pvping?. what if a majority of people get slowness and weakness debuffs when they are on the frontline?. They should face and adapt decent debuffs (not strong because of balancing) which have not been implemented on OCC and even OCN.

Team Sizes

50 vs 50 (Typical Giga size) (Some people said that 36vs36 is better but I want a more crowded match. (precisely, more people per unit surface area) (any thoughts about that?)

The map reminds me of Bessemer's Process. What contribution did Strangey do?

Strangey feedbacked map balance mainly. especially about kill rewards and each potion's balance. If he didn't feedback about my map's balancing, maybe this map would have serious balance issues such as OP or useless potion.

IDK if it's possible but that map.png is a lil bit wonky lol... stretching down the image kinda makes it look odd... might wanna fix that up and have an image of the map... maybe showing one side of the wools n stuff

You are missing a filter that allows players to break the cobwebs entering the woolroom, it's currently denied like every other block in the room.

Oh wait. I want to do a patch on this map like Hotel Overcast. I'm on rehabilitating.

since factorio mainbus is on the server already I think it's safe to close this post

not sure if you intend to work on this more when you have time or if Factorio Mainbus is a successor of sorts, but given how much better Factorio Mainbus plays than this I'm going to close the issue. It's still loaded on the server and will stay loaded however I don't think it's suitable for addition to the pool; Factorio Mainbus takes what you were wanting to do here and improves upon it and I'm glad it worked out on that map.
