reset apm and watch on serial monitor
get following output

Init ArduPilotMega 1.0-BETA

freeRAM: 4017
Number of log files exceeds max. Log 19 will be overwritten.
<startup_IMU_ground> Warming up ADC...
<startup_IMU_ground> Beginning IMU calibration; do not move plane
  <startup_IMU_ground> Calibration complete.
MSG: reset_control_switch0

I can make it say reset_control_switch5 by switching my autopilot switch on in
in5

0 is ailerons but they are at 0
I have an elevon setup if that makes a difference

thanks
ryan

What do you think is wrong with this behavior?

Good question...

I'm unsure of what I'm suppsed to see here it's my first time to start the APM

I thought it would show some sort of telemetry
I have been rigorous with the manual but I couldn't find anything about that MSG

what you think?

That message is simply indicating that your mode has been changed. It is
output at startup to show the initial mode.

0 has nothing to do with ailerons. This is flight mode 0, which is manual.
