Writer tools install - open office crash

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Unzip archive
2. Tools -> Extension Manager
3. Click the Add button in the My Extensions section
4. Install writertool.oxt
5. Install begins but crashed at 30%

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I would expect a finished install but OpenOffice crashed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Ubuntu 7.10 (clean install), OpenOffice 2.3.0

Please provide any additional information below.

OpenOffice crashed and can only be shut down through te "force quit" option
within Ubuntu.

I have the same problem with OpenOffice.org 2.3 on Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon. 
However,
OpenOffice.org also crashes when I try to install other extensions (e.g
OpenOffice.org2GoogleDocs). I assume the problem is not related to a particular
extension. A possible workaround is to try to install Writer's Tools after
relaunching OpenOffice.org. It worked for me.

I managed to get it installed an properly working. Although the install itself 
still
crashes. (other extensions install and work like a charm).
