Email backup doesn't work #42

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Save a file in writer then select email backup
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
File should be emailed but it is not. An information window pops up saying
that the file has been sent.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm using OO 3.0.1 and Writer's Tools 1.3.1 (also tried with 1.1.9). I'm
using Win XP SP3. It used to work in OO 2.3 and some earlier version of WT.
My mailer is Thunderbird 2.0.0.19.

Please provide any additional information below.
My mailer is Thunderbird 2.0.0.19. I tried putting the python script in the
C:\python25 dir but no luck. The multiformat backup works.

Hello,

I'm having the same issue, but I have no idea what causes it. I'm working on it.

Kind regards,
Dmitri

It turned out that the problem on my machine was due to the latest version of
Python.
I have Python 2.6 while the Email Backup is designed for Python 2.5. What
version of
Python do you have on your machine?

Kind regards,
Dmitri

I have 2.5 but I did have other versions. Blender uses Python and I had to
play with
version to get that working. When I start Blender it finds Python. Should I
reinstall? Is there an uninstall procedure to do first? The script goes in the
c:\python25 dir right?

Thanks for your help.

OK, I'm stupid. I put in my wife's password not mine. So I suppose this
should be
changed from high defect to an enhancement request for better error messages.
I did
run the python script by hand and got a login error (or something like that)
which
lead me to the answer.

Thanks, sorry for the mixup.
