This finite set of components is a substitute for an earlier policy of using online rich-text editors like CKEditor or TinyMCE.
This can be proposed as a larger industry-wide standard for all journalism sites. Instead on encoding article bodies in HTML, they can be encoded in standardized markdown or JSON. This is better on many levels -- migration and searchability.
