PARPedraza / GaussianDensityModel

We proposes a novel and robust 3D object segmentation method, the Gaussian Density Model (GDM) algorithm. The algorithm works with point clouds scanned in the urban environment using the density metrics, based on existing quantity of features in the neighborhood. The LiDAR Velodyne 64E was used to scan urban environment.

Where you study?. What you study?. Master or Doctoral program (Ph.D.)?

You can user Point Cloud Library PCL, this library has many methods for segmentation and classification on cloud points; this library is on c++ and python.

So, you can user scikit-learn on python.

Hello, I study in Beijing Institute of Technology, China, and i am a master, thanks for your advices, I know PCL and alwanys use it, another, like Open3D,etc. Now I want to do a semantic segmentation task with PointCloud of urban, classify trees, buildings and cars, because i am not familiar with Deep Learning, so i want to cluster pointcloud first, then classify those clusters by Machine Learning such as RF and so on. So that's why i am looking forward to your Paper, What do you think classify Pointcloud by Machine Learning?

My friend,

I can advise taking this course, it's free and you can learn the basic idea on deep Learning and later apply the idea on cloud points.

This area is new for me, I use classic techniques on cloud point until this moment.
