Kristofer Hall, Sevilleta LTER information manager, reports:

Hello,

In this month’s IMC VWC, Tim Whiteaker mentioned that it is a best practice to make the LTER site the first creator/author of data packages. https://ediorg.github.io/data-package-best-practices/EMLmetadata/people-and-organizations-parties.html

This is not something that I have been doing, but would like to start adding "Sevilleta LTER" as first author for at least our core data packages. In a recent data package update, I tried adding:

Sevilleta LTER

This displays the first author as "LTER, Sevilleta" in the citation. I want to have it displayed as "Sevilleta LTER". See https://portal.edirepository.org/nis/mapbrowse?packageid=knb-lter-sev.230.202104

Tim gets his BLE LTER site to display properly (see for example, https://portal.edirepository.org/nis/mapbrowse?packageid=knb-lter-ble.18.2). Can you help me determine what I am doing incorrectly or what additional information I need to add?

Thank you!

Kris

The organization name, which is a singleton field, is being incorrectly identified as individual name and restructured with a comma separating assumed given name and surname elements. See below:
