Changing to FigFams in PFs...still shows PLFams #1279

Closed ARWattam closed 7 years ago

ARWattam commented 7 years ago

I wanted to check the number of FigFams for Lactobacillus brevis ATCC 367, so changed the PFS, which was already loaded with PLFams, to FigFams. The blue wheel turned around and around, and finally the view cleared. Although the filter showed FigFams, the table only showed PLFams.

Sad.....

ARWattam commented 7 years ago

I checked to developer panel and it said, "/js/3.2.48/p3/widget/viewer/GenomeGroup.js:76 MISSING activeQueryState for PANEL: proteinFamilies"

Still feeling sad

ARWattam commented 7 years ago

And it just got odder. I filtered on PGFams. Surprise! The PFS loaded the PGFams:

Success right? WRONG! When I filtered on Lactobacillus brevis ATCC 367, the table reverted to showing PLFams:

No feeling sad and confused...

ok, I tried several times on both alpha and beta and I can't reproduce these problems. We had such problems before, but Harry fixed them last week and I verified they were fixed.

@ARWattam, were you working on alpha or beta?

@hyoo , are we deploying bug fixes everyday on both alpha and beta?

hyoo commented 7 years ago

@mshukla1 beta is 3.2.51 and alpha 3.2.50. as far as I remember beta was a few versions off by this afternoon.

ARWattam commented 7 years ago

I was working on beta

I just tried it again, and I am getting the same effect working on the protein family page for the genome groups. Note that the filter is set to PLFams, and the table still shows PGFams

And I am still getting the same effect, as I just tried it right now. I have put a link and a screenshot into the comment section, but I seem to be unable to assign it to anyone, so maybe it will be ignored as it is currently assigned to me.

Here's another puzzle piece...when I do the same thing with a Brucella group, it seems to work. Do you think that it has something to do with the Lactobacillus genus? Weird! So that's why its working for Maulik...he's testing it on something that works, and others don't! https://www.beta.patricbrc.org/view/GenomeGroup/ARWattam@patricbrc.org/home/Genome%20Groups/40%20and%20more%20Brucella%20genomes#view_tab=proteinFamilies

Rebecca,

I think if you have some of this weirdness happen again, you should get on the PATRIC Beta Skype group and do a screen share so others can see what is happening in real time and maybe figure out what is going on.

I think we have resolved this issue. please create another issue or reopen this.

ARWattam commented 7 years ago

I have tried this on genus landing pages, and on the Protein Family sorter. I changed between all 3 types of protein families on each, and it has worked as it should on all of them. I agree that this issue can be closed.
