With the second commit here, you can almost cleanly get the first two chapters in pdf form. Once, you need to run make webwork-server-tex to get any WeBWorK-generated image files. Then make pdf almost works; there are a few LaTeX compilation errors you can skip past.

Some come from having a cross-reference with an underscore in its internal ID. I think I raised this issue in the MBX forum recently.

The other compilation errors come from a certain table inside a certain WeBWorK exercise. I just didn't get around to fixing that one. (Skipping past this one takes a while.)

If you want to make pdf, make sure to have the latest mathbook.

Flipping through the pdf, it's clear there are some WeBWorK layout things to adjust still.

• I think all of the WeBWorK images should embed a bit smaller, and the page count will go down a lot.
• Sometimes images should start on the next line, but don't. I suspect that I unintentionally omitted a surrounding figure tag in those places.
• The fill-in-the-blanks often run off the page. This could be a tricky issue to fix, but not impossible.
