research vs projects #458

Hi folks,

1) Under the "Research" drop-down, we have this seemingly arbitrary distinction between "projects" (CAPT, Cloud feedbacks, and APE) with the "research" topics (D&A, Metrics, and Climate Model Diagnosis). Can we just consolidate these all into one "research" category (and lose the horizontal line separating them in the drop-down)?
2) Do we need APE to be part of this anymore? 3) Can we add Cloud feedbacks and CAPT to the Research Overview page? (I already did a pull request for cloud feedbacks to be added)

I was planning to propose these changes that you list after Issue 451 was resolved and enacted. Patience please.
