[Feature Request]: MacOS Styled Icon #11432

Description

The PCSX2 icon as it is now doesn't fit with the style of other icons on MacOS. I've been changing it manually, but that's become a chore with constant updates. I'd like to request the inclusion of a matching icon on Mac, for example the one by Discord user thepromisedland_85108 attached below.

Reason

Matching the icon to the rest of those used on Mac, since user created ones already exist it should be relatively simple.

Note: This example icon actually is scaled slightly wrong. If this addition is possible, I'll gladly get the permission of the creator and make a fixed version to be used.

On the flipside, now we would have different icons across platforms, which I'm not really a fan of.

An alternative could be just keeping the same icon and giving it a squircle background. (I just picked a random colour here) Icon Template

This seems like a good compromise to Stenzek's concern! If that works I'll make a proper icns file for something in that style.

Looks kinda silly imo. And then when apple decides to change styles again (who knows, maybe this upcoming update), we'll go through the same thing again.

IMO it's a non issue, most apps will be like this.

I really like OP's version of the app icon, but I think the compromise version looks significantly worse than the current one. Although I don't have a Mac, I think it'd be super cool to see OP's icons get included into the project, as they definitely do fit macOS stylistically more than the current logo.

Apple switched to roundrect icons way back in 2020, so it doesn’t seem to be something they chop & change with every release.

PCSX2 is one of the last “holdouts” on my system with an old-style icon. IMHO it would be nice if it fit in better with the rest of the system 🙂
