Try Prafull's old patch. Doesn't seem to be in the GameIndex file.
edit: Yup, looks like they removed it awhile back: https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/pull/2919 & https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/pull/1783
Tested this on Windows and game runs fine without any patches. I wonder whether the issue is invalid or it's linux specific problem?
I reverted the change relating to WRC 3 from PR #2919 in /usr/share/games/PCSX2/GameIndex.dbf
and added 80802EA9.pnach
to /usr/share/games/PCSX2/cheats_ws.zip
but I still get the same issue.
Try getting the MD5 if your ISO and post it here.
The MD5sum is 3fcca2c4263dfc5d07f692c30b0a244c
. Do you think it might be a corrupted ISO/DVD? I tried copying the DVD again once I first encountered the error but to no avail.
Correct md5 for that game is 5cb34ceaf73704e33fcfd2c4622e9243 Seems to be corrupted.
Ok, this solves the issue I guess  Never had any issues playing it on the console though.
PCSX2 version:
v1.7.0
, commit 8a6d56b.PCSX2 options: All speedhacks disabled, other settings at default.
Plugins used: 3x native resolution, other settings at default.
Description of the issue: Launching the game results in it being stuck in a black screen. This happens for both the uncompressed and gzipped ISO. It also happens for both full and fast boot. Log at the bottom of the issue. The
loadmodule
messages on the log repeat as along as the game is left running. Maybe the missing CRC is the issue here? The symptoms are similar to issue #1618.Last known version to work: No known good version.
