[BUG]: Invalid frames during transition sequence in TAZ WANTED #6241

Describe the Bug

During the intro (game-rendered) cutscene, between the transition phase from the Paris skit to the Russia skit, the game flashes two separate frames on screen for a single instance where there should be just blue.

Here is the rogue frame that slips through: image

In fact, there's a frame of the trashcan's cover having fallen past the screen which isn't supposed to be there according to ps2 footage, the screen is meant to transition to blue on this frame instead, right after the cover takes up the majority of the screen in the previous frame: image

Here's a clip of ps2 footage of this transition: https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxJRpY06MxAlOp15Pv6SohCFKir9DXhDDi You can use the < and > keys to shift the footage frame by frame once playback is paused.

Reviewing footage from pcsx2 sources on youtube shows that this has been an issue since at least 1.6 so it isn't something new, just that no one was nitpicky enough to report it.

For clarification, this occurs regardless of renderer and settings.

can this be rechecked on latest nightly :)

coornio commented 9 months ago

Checked just now, there's been no change, the scene transitions in the intro cutscene still seem to pop out these rogue frames.
