Exit F40 and MACRO10 more robustly. #2186

Previously, some invocations would exit after seeing the "core used" message. This resulted in an error on some machines, as reported by @dseagrav. It's safer to wait for the message, and then exit when seeing the "*" prompt.

I believe we ran out of GitHub Actions CPU time, which is why the build check will not pass.
