MLDEV doesn't work with 3-character host names #2231

Using MLDEV with "devices" like EXA (three-character hostname), EXADIR, DIREXA, XEXA (experimental) don't work. Also, it is not possible to invoke a remote SHOE device to a three-character hostname (e.g. EXASHOE -- because that would be greater than 6 characters).

There is no need to post an issue together with a pull request. Just the pull request is enough.

Really? I thought we always wanted an issue for everything so that you could look through issues (and their corresponding fixes). Ok.

larsbrinkhoff commented 9 months ago

Thanks! Searching applies to both pull requests and issues, so things show up doubly, or you have to look at both the issue and the pull request to get the full picture. So it's less work for everyone if there's just a pull request. Of course, if there's no quick fix there will probably be an issue (hopefully) followed by a pull request later.

Gotcha. Thanks. I won’t create issues for unreported fixes I create PRs for.
