When I tap on Sepearate Shapes, nothing happens.

I think, it happen if we have shape in selection, which don't touch other shapes.

I think this has to do with that the share is not the base layer (i.e. not bottommost). Would be more intuitive if the plugin behaved more like you suggest in #8.
