Ability Ideas / Changes

What I mean by abilities is just a lot of gameplay features mostly in PVP that aren't possibly in vanilla. You could always think of crazy abilities that could theoretically be possible but all of these are really simple and actually make sense within the gameplay that exists on some maps right now so they would be good additions. PGM used to try to keep most features vanilla related or atleast the pvping should be. I think i read that somewhere. But that's not really the case anymore for a lot of maps like arcade stuff which is good imo and it should give more options to do other stuff like the stuff I describe here. There's some ideas that I really like but then I also included other ideas related to them that could be interesting but I don't really care about. Why? Good additions to the gameplay on some maps and people love them on other servers.

I would maybe have some ideas on how to implement some of these but other people will for sure have better ideas so I'm not gonna get into that for most of these.

Instant Consumables

I think half already mentioned this in voice chat a few times so maybe it's already kind of planned but i'll add it to the list: The feature to not only have consumables work on items you actually eat but on any (?) item by right clicking it. There could also be cases where it doesnt consume the item so a cooldown would make sense for this but then its not a consumable so idk where that idea would be. Just right clicking an item and it gives you speed for example. Main idea for this is Soup PVP tho.

Better Custom Projectile Cooldowns

This could be a separate specific issue but I'll include it here. Custom Projectile Cooldowns are displayed in the item name which is weird cause you only see it when you hold the item. It was already discussed, people basically agreed and Pablo proposed some general idea. image In chat would also be cool like how the arrow cooldown on the bridge maps works.

Better Movement Abilities

Right now we already have the double jump but it's very limited in how you can use it and what it does. You generally jump in the direction you are looking but it also seems to always give you some velocity upwards. It would be nice if you could also have some movement ability which only moves you in the direction you are looking without the upwards velocity.

There's also other examples which do damage, deal knockback etc. and go beyond a standard movement ability by then and it's not really what i meant.

From the examples i showed the flash/blink would be cool but also not that needed by a lot of maps. Tho what i think the first changes to the double jump could be is:

  1. Some more control about the velocity. How much it moves you in the direction you are looking and how much it always moves you upwards? Or if you put a negative value for the first velocity it would move you backwards. Maybe on some maps it's preferred to have the current double jump but in a lot of other gameplay it would be more fun if it only launches you where you are looking so you can "dash".
  2. How the ability is activated: It would be nice if you could also activate them by right clicking an item

Fireball Jumping

This goes in the same direction but still feels like a separate thing. You can fireball jump on hypixel in bedwars or on mmc with the fireball kit etc. I've tried around A LOT and looked at many other discussions about it and couldn't find a solution that works with what we have right now. On the map We Sell Mushrooms it used to launch players ridiculously high when hit by a fireball but i don't know how. I asked Strangey and Claf and i tried around by changing the fireball values, half helped me out too and changed stuff in the config but we couldn't even get close to this. Maybe it's possible with changing the vanilla values so you could do it in a fireball spawner but this wouldn't work for a fireball as a custom projectile. A solution like other servers, probably hypixel does it would be cool. It just seems to be a plugin thing giving you some velocity? You would then easily be able to replicate both the bedwars fireballs and some rocket jumping ability with custom projectiles.

Enchants on Custom Projectiles (Arrows)

Currently a custom projectile like an arrow which fires instantly can't have any enchants on it. I tried just putting enchants on the item which has the custom projectile applied to it but it didn't work. It would be cool if you could put flame or punch on arrows that you fire via custom projectile module. Effects is already a thing which is actually very cool!

Molotov / Incendiary Grenade?

We have normal grenades, wouldn't a molotov be nice? It would just light the ground on fire in some radius. You could have decay and when enabled the fire blocks would decay after some time which would be valuable on maps where you can't break blocks. I don't know really but concept seems kinda cool?

Reimplement Pick-ups

please :( they're pretty cool. Tho 1.7 kind of ruins them and you have to stick to the end crystal. If it was 1.8+ you would be able to customize them way more like in Hypixel Woolwars with Armor Stands. Nevertheless only with the end crystal they are already good enough.

Hypixel Woolwars: Archer Step Back If we add velocity actions, this could be done with an instant consumable. See #1133 for those. This is probably pretty easy as well, so if you have a map that needs them ping me and let me know.

oh yea if we have instant consumables and velocity actions then i guess i make any movement ability i want without touching double jumps. forgot about the velocity actions.
