For new term requests, please provide the following information:

Preferred term label

host pattern recognition receptor signalling pathway induced by pathogen Chosen this version for clarity of term name 'host PTI signaling activated by pathogen'

Synonyms

MOVE this related synonym from parent to this new term 'pathogen induced host MAP kinase activity'

exact: activation of host PAMP-triggered immunity activation of host MAMP-triggered immunity activation of host PTI broad: activation of host PRR signaling pathway

Textual definition

A cell signalling pathway phenotype where the host pattern recognition receptor signalling pathway is directly induced by a pathogen. This can include any series of molecular signals generated as a consequence of a pattern recognition receptor (PRR) binding to a pathogen-derived physiological ligand. PRR ligands are usually referred to as pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMPs) or microbe-associated molecular pattern (MAMPs), structures conserved among microbial species (GO:0002221).

(need new future GO term to include DAMPs).

For new term requests, please provide the following information:

Preferred term label host ETI signalling induced HR activated by pathogen

Synonyms exact: activation of host effector-triggered immunity inducing HR activation of host ETI inducing HR activation of host ETI signalling pathway inducing HR

broad activation of host ETI activation of host ETI inducing PCD

(in future may need additional terms for PCD for animal/human pathogens)

Textual definition A cell signalling pathway phenotype where the host effector-triggered immunity signalling pathway is induced by a pathogen to activate a plant hypersensitive response (HR) and induce necrosis.

@ValWood is this the correct GO term to link to this PHIPO term? yes for now, PCD in future. GO:0080185 effector-triggered induction of plant hypersensitive response by symbiont Def: A symbiont process whereby a molecule secreted by the symbiont activates plant effector-triggered immunity (ETI) signalling and the subsequent activation of a plant hypersensitive response to induce necrosis. In the plant, ETI involves the direct or indirect recognition of an effector protein by the host. for example through plant resistance receptor or R proteins.

@ValWood please could you look at the above terms and give feedback on term labels and defs etc?

PHIPO currently looks like this and may need some additional grouping terms under signaling. Maybe split into PTI and ETI and list activation/suppression etc underneath? image

host immune signalling pathway induced by pathogen change to host immune signalling pathway activated by pathogen

host microbe triggered immunity (above x 2 ) to PTI

no need for grouping change for now

Tagging @ValWood for future GO term for DAMPs but closing ticket now.
