Merge changes from previous branches to dev_stage2 #244

This branch includes:

  1. Changes made in vectorization branch
  2. Changes made in key_values branch
  3. Changes made in efficient_lorenz branch
  4. Update of new functions on md_quantile_functions.R using md_compute_lorenz.
  5. Fixes in documentation.
