This feature request is based on ideas within my “PIVX is Future” paper outlining a notional way-ahead for mass adoption of PIVX (https://docs.google.com/document/d/104lLU0yntBoZXESqY9EzbkG9xN0vbaQmnASa4Ny7QiQ). In this paper, I state that the main utility of a currency is to be an exchange in value for good and services. However, there are several gaps that must be addressed before PIVX can achieve this function.
To continue the amazing progress PIVX has made, we must now enable easy on-ramping of merchants, vendors and businesses to adopt PIVX. To do this, I propose that we integrate a point-of-sale feature into our mobile wallet, which I will call PIVPay.
Furzy has been making great enhancements to the mobile wallet. His latest release adopting fiat/PIV conversion and Request Payment features is awesome. The next logical step would be to leverage these two new features in an integrated point-of-sale feature within the wallet.
In the mobile wallet’s main menu, there would be an menu option for PIVPay. In the PIVPay screen, I see 3 major sections (buttons to go to each individual screen?):
Make a Sale
Select items from “My Products & Services”
Display an invoice of items selected, tax, est. fees, totals
Generate an appropriate “Request Payment” QR code
Customer scans QR code, sends payment
Vendor receives payment and sends (text?) receipt to customer
Sale History
Shows a history of all the sales
Vendor can click on sales to see details
History can be sent to email or converted into spreadsheet
My Products & Services
There should be the option to add and edit categories
Each category will have options add and edit items
Each item probably needs:
Item name
Item Number (barcode perhaps?)
Picture for Item
Price
Vendor should be able to designate the price in PIV or local fiat. However, I recommend the default price to be in local fiat. The point-of-sale should convert the fiat price to the appropriate PIV for Request Payment. That way, vendors don’t have to worry about the volitilty of crypto as they price their products unless PIVX is less volitile that the local currency :)
Sales Tax (Y/N)

With the level of expertise and rate at which Furzy has been building the mobile wallet, I think this is in the realm of possible. If he and the developers can make this happen, any small business or vendor can immediately adopt PIVX as a form of payment.
Thank you for your consideration. Furzy, you’re awesome!

You can use Square (https://squareup.com) and Intuit GoPayments (https://quickbooks.intuit.com/payments/mobile-payments/) as an example, but the following is what I envision:
