Similar issue, but with Obsidian v1.7.6 (installer v1.4.16). This was in a brand-new vault.

[!Warning] I did as the error suggested and uninstalled, then re-installed, Obsidian completely, but the result was the same message as OP. Updating Obsidian also prevents manual installations of ZotLit v1.1.5 from loading correctly!

This is tied to the Electron version. ZotLit v1.1.8 functions properly with Obsidian v1.7.7 (installer version: v1.7.4). However, Obsidian's update to version v1.7.5, which includes an upgrade to Electron version 32, has rendered the plugin incompatible.

fixed in v1.1.9. for those whose zotlit is asking for obsidian reinstallation, it should work after the plugin upgrade and obsidian reinstallation.
