Focal Areas for certain SGCN - GWWA #155

We're not entirely sure how this will be used yet (potentially as a modifier for the AIS), but we're getting the data together on this:

  1. Downloaded the focal area map from: https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/item/55e36f1fe4b05561fa208207 which appears to match the map found here: https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detailfull/pa/plantsanimals/?cid=nrcs142p2_018212
  2. Select the PUs that overlap (centroid) with the Focal Area
  3. Exported to a table.

On second thought, @dyeany I'm going to need help with this.

We should have spatial data already for the GWWA focal areas. I had these when I did the forest patch prioritization a number of years ago. I'm still not sold on this being part of the COA tool, as it equates much to a range restriction. I realize it isn't exactly the same but it's very similar.

I'd be happy to help figure this out.

As we discussed, let's put this on hold for a bit until we talk more with C/D.

ChristopherTracey commented 6 years ago

I talked with C a little more about this and the Commissions would like this to be part of the tool.
