"cross pattée per saltire" visually improper

Can you provide an example blazon that demonstrates the problem?
Argent, a cross pattée, per saltire, gules and azure

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
that the cross is divided in the middle.

What version of drawshield are you using?
2.3f.1

What browser and version where you using to view the shield? Does the
problem also occur on other browsers?

This looks ok in 2.3i on IE9, other problems may be browser specific rendering 
bugs, which I am no longer trying to do workarounds for as the versions change 
too fast!
My cross formy/pattee is more rounded and follows the example in Boutell's, 
illustration 134 on page 52.
