Just wanted to ask, if and when the improvements of #3 get a new release and maven build? Or is the new version not working anywhere?

Is anything wrong with the current version on GitHub? Could it be released into the EBI maven repository, or at least the snapshot repo?

We have tested the new version and is slower than the previous version @julianu @UKQIDA. Can you @UKQIDA do some benchmark in your side?
