Hi!

We'd like to request new terms for these proteins: integrase, DDE transposase, recombination directionality factor, relaxase, serine recombinase, T4SS ATPase, type IV coupling protein, tyrosine recombinase.

More information can be found in Terms request info.xlsx. In the excel file, we list the definition, definition source, and other related information for your reference.

Thanks a lot.

Thank you for your request. I will alert you when your terms are ready.

I have a question about 'integrase'. Is it intended to pertain to phage integrases, which are site-specific recombinases, or to viral integrases, which are not site-specific, or to both?

Thanks for your prompt response. In our ICE domain, ICEs most likely encode a phage-like site-specific integrase, and the degree of the specificity of integration despends. However, I think that "integrase" here could have a broader definition.

Sorry for the continued delay. I'm finding it necessary to create a new upper-level PRO term (which in itself requires a request to another ontology), and to make several requests to GO. The GO requests are here if you wish to follow or comment: https://github.com/geneontology/go-ontology/issues/22264 https://github.com/geneontology/go-ontology/issues/22265

Just wanted to follow up. I have yet to get any response for the requests indicated above. Plus, I might need to make other requests (the issue is that some of the roles you use in the original definitions should probably be functions, and the functions don't yet exist in GO). In any case, I haven't forgotten!

Thanks a lot. I understand it might need more time and/or work here. Please let me know if there are anything I could do to help.
