Describe the bug

Originally reported at on Facebook (link) by user Ole Jørgen Malmgård:

When using the iPad OS companion app, or the iPhone companion app with a Firemote card inside of a sections dashboard view, a double tap on the Firemote card can cause the entire dashboard to scroll.

To Reproduce

(described above)

Expected Behavior

No un-requested scrolling should occur

Which Type of Device Do You Own?

iPad

Troubleshooting Steps Completed

No response

Additional context

This behavior seems to be inherent with the iPad and iPhone companion apps inside of the sections view at this time. The same scrolling annoyance can also be triggered by double tapping an a section's title.

A fix for this behavior is being tested right now, and is expected to be rolled out in the next version.

@ojm88 ~

In response to your questions on Facebook:

Will your fix work with IOS devices? Or does it not, based on your experiences with testing?

Yes. It does fix this. I have only been able to test with an iPad, but I assume that the fix will also work with an iPhone

You describe that you experience the same phenomenon with section's TITLE. What is TITLE?

Hopefully this video is clear enough to explain what I am talking about:

Great news @ojm88!

I have just published Firemote version v4.0.5 which fixes the behavior you reported. Thank you for letting me know!

After updating to the newest version, if you are unable to see the new updates on your Firemote card, visit this link for help.

great. Looking forward to testing over the weekend. I give you feedback.

Hello.

I have then updated to the latest version of Firemote.

Now all the double tap problems are eliminated on my devices, Nice!

Hope I can come up with one more wish for the next release. I think it is important that the use and navigation of the Firemonte card works with the thumb. Therefore, I have landed on the use of "Remote Style: App Launcher 2" Here I change the size so that the joystick comes out to the far right of the screen (I'm right-handed) I want the volume control to come out to the right as well, just below the joystick. I'm open to other suggestions that make navigation with one hand easy.image
