Join the Policy Simulation Library? #44

This GitHub organization (Open-Source-Economics) is becoming a home for the Policy Simulation Library, and it will be renamed PSLmodels on December 3rd. Starting then, I'd like for every project in PSLmodels to either be in PSL or be in the process of joining PSL.

BRC is very welcome in PSL! If the project is interested in joining, could you please let me know by Dec 3 and begin (if not finish) conforming to the PSL Criteria? If the project is not interested in joining, I'll help move this repo to a different organization or remove it.

Please let me know how you'd like to proceed -- I'll be keeping an eye on this issue, and I'm also happy to join a call to discuss.

@MattHJensen, As I said in a recent Tax-Calculator comment, I plan to start helping make BRC compliant with PSL criteria in the next week or so. I doubt that BRC will be fully compliant on December 3rd, but BRC is going to be eventually the corporate income tax component of the Policy Simulation Library's collection of USA tax models. I'm reasonably sure that @codykallen is in agreement on this goal. He is currently focusing on BRC substance, while I hope to start helping with code organization and other matters that will eventually make it possible to create a conda package for BRC. That package and the Tax-Calculator taxcalc package would then be able to be used together in a Python script that estimates the aggregate and distributional effects of a corporate income tax reform. And the goal would be to estimate the aggregate and distributional effects of tax reforms that change both corporate and individual income tax provisions.

Yes, I do want BRC in PSL.

@martinholmer, regarding the distributional portion, I'm planning to add a new repo on my personal page with the code for distributional analysis including distributing the corporate income tax (as well as the paper including the explanation on it). That isn't intended as a model of its own; the portion for distributing the corporate income tax will eventually be incorporated into BRC.

Yes, I do want BRC in PSL.

Totally fine. I just needed to know that PSL compliance is on the BRC roadmap.
