DJ Max Portable 3 issue #124

Open LMS737 opened 1 year ago

LMS737 commented 1 year ago

PSP/Vita Model

PSP-3000 (Slim & Bright)

ARK Version

4.20.33

Homebrew/GAME (if applicable)

ULUS-10538

Plugins ( if applicable )

No plugins enabled.

Steps to reproduce

  1. I verified the md5 from redump.org (4aa9ea958f5d1c3ffd4f5c9c3f610476).
  2. Startup the game from XMB.
  3. Black screen and orange light stays on.
  4. PSP shuts down after 3 seconds.

I don't remember the recovery settings, but it was left as default settings. I also tried NP9660 UMD iso mode but it had the same crash result as described.

The game boots on 6.61 LME-2.3 but that triggers AP countermeasures during the 3rd song. There is also a patched version which works without problems on LME. Both versions do not boot on ARK.

Let me know if this fixes it: https://github.com/PSP-Archive/ARK-4/releases/tag/v1684249848 I was able to boot the ISO no problem. But haven't gotten too far into the game.

LMS737 commented 1 year ago

Ok I tested it. I can confirm that it boots now, however the game does not work properly. AP countermeasures are triggered and it detects ARK.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Boot game. 2) Play arcade mode 4 tracks. 3) Play and finish the first two songs. No problem so far. 4) Play the third song. And now during the 3rd song AP countermeasures are triggered. 5) The sound starts crackling and also the audio is out off tune.

JoseAaronLopezGarcia commented 1 year ago

Yes but what about the patched version?

LMS737 commented 1 year ago

I just tested the patched one. And overall seems to work fine except sometimes it speeds up the game and adds a random 0.5x speed multiplier. I think this is something patch related.

As far as I remember it has never worked on any CFW without patches or additional plugins. It seems to be a known problematic game. That is why it would have been nice if the untouched version worked.

JoseAaronLopezGarcia commented 1 year ago

What about playing it in PBP format so it uses the Official Sony driver?

LMS737 commented 1 year ago

I just tried in PBP format, unfortunately same issues occur as described before with the crackling sound and off tune audio.

We might have to implement "Simulate UMD delays" like from PPSSPP for all the anti-piracy measures for these games.

This is still happening on the latest version of ARK-4. Currenty running on a PSP Go on 6.61 cIPL
