Hi Helen, Just fyi, I now pulled your repository to my really old windows 8 machine on which literally nothing R like was installed before to check what comes from the AXA XL firewall and what is happening on a "lake computer".

Right now, there is no version of step 1 on github which you did on purpose if i remember correctly. Let me know once you want to share! I'll be ready to test when you are ;)

Thanks! Tomorrow is my coding day so I will take a look. yep, i think the base address was a short term thing I put in to move the data around, Will remove! With the Rtools, that warning is the bane of my teaching life.. I'll see if I can put doMPI in. Did you install it?

  • Good news: I had no issues pulling the data from github, so its the problem of our IT
  • I ran the global set up it worked quite fluent. Some smaller issues just fyi:
    • It broke in the beginning telling me I had to download rstudioapi. When I did this manually the code starts running
    • Eventually, it broke with the following error: Error in FUN(X[[i]], ...) : The base address you entered does not exist on your computer. You entered: C:/Users/hlg5155/Documents/Github/AXA-PSU-Somalia/. Seems like a quite thing to fix. -- In between I get multiple warnings to install R tools. I will not do that for now to see what happens without it -- When I open the code for the global set up afterwards, I get a warning on top of the code to install doMPI.
