Newbies and non-coders welcome

As we translate our program, we also need to translate the headings of our program! You can find the headings under src/img/graphics/headings. We need banners of the same size and with a translated name. A good way to figure out the translated name is to

(1) look at what they are called in src/text/did_html (2) if they're not translated there, open German wikipedia, enter German word, switch to your language in Wikipedia

(If you're unsure how to translate a heading, comment below).

Otherwise, you may design the banner as you wish, you don't need to stick to the original. Be creative! All banners will be accepted, but only if they have a minimum of creativeness. Use any program you want, but don't use copyright-protected templates.

Create a file for your language in src/img and upload the banner there. Please do not change the banner's name - keep the original German file name!

If you think banners are boring: We are very happy about any homemade png - be it a monkey or some cool cryptography thing - to add to our program!

Hi, I think I can make a few banners for you. I'm a GIMP user.

I'm a little confused about what you need though. For example, if I make a heading for Mathematik, In Spanish, the heading would be "Matemáticas".

But you said to keep the german filename. So should I save my banner under mathematik.png, and put it directly in the headings folder?

Hi Derek, sorry for the late response. I'm glad you're interested in helping!

It's as you said: The writing in the image should be translated, but not the image file name itself - otherwise we would not be able to know which banner is which in languages we don't understand. So keep the file name eg. mathematik.png . You can save it under img/es/ . If this folder doesn't exist, simply create it. Later, when actually integrating the banners in our program, we will figure out a new system, but for now that will do.
