It may be worth discussing whether we would like to continue supporting the 1.4.x (and 1.5.x) branches as part of this release. From my perspective, I would rather invest my energy in improving this library.
Looking at some data:
52% of traffic is already coming from 1.6.0-alpha.
70% of traffic is coming from 1.6.x and 1.5.x versions.
