The article "Cancer Patients on Twitter" discusses the process of research on cancer patients and their Twitter accounts. The first thing they did was look at highly influential "power accounts" which are Twitter accounts with 500 or more followers. From there they narrowed down the amount of accounts to research by looking for profiles that had information about the persons disease. Next they realized that the top 5 cancers people's profiles represented were breast cancer, leukemia, colon cancer, cancers of the uterus and malignant lymphoma. From this point they investigated the contents of daily tweets and relationships between users.
