I'd like an option to prevent the incident from auto-closing.

With the incident being auto-closed, there isn't an option of wrapping the playbook to add customer post validations unless just add the validations to the playbooks and deviate from the repo.

We're trying to wrap the device upgrade playbook to add customer specific pre/post validations.
