Unable to turn of "check for updates on startup"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. start svnX
2. open preferences
3. uncheck the "Check for updates at startup"
4. close preferences
5. close svnX
6. restart svnX
7. open preferences

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected:
- The "Check for updates at startup" option should be unchecked
- The software should not check for updates

Result:
- The "Check for updates at startup" option is still checked
- The software tries to check for updates

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- svnX 1.3.2 and 1.3.3
- Mac OS X 10.6.8
