After GNOME Symbolic Icons https://github.com/Xaviju/inkscape-open-symbols/issues/63and GNOME Extra Icons https://github.com/Xaviju/inkscape-open-symbols/issues/64 of course also GNOME Icons, GNOME Dark Icons and GNOME High Contrast Icons should be added.

Note that the default icon set is also called Adwaita, and this doesn't make it easier to untangle it all, especially where to find the released SVG icons. For now, lets not use that name, only use GNOME.

The official releases are found at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-icon-theme but the package is called adwaita-icon-theme-full (Contrary to the symbolic icons, there are no releases by GNOME on Launchpad, only via Ubuntu.) (As reference only, the sources are at https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-themes-standard/tree/themes/HighContrast/icons/scalable and https://git.gnome.org/browse/adwaita-icon-theme/tree/src/fullcolor Note that https://git.gnome.org/browse/adwaita-icon-theme/tree/src/symbolic should be the one that is already supported, please double check)

In Inkscape, the sets resulting from here will look:

If someone knows people at GNOME that have better understanding of how the SVG icons files are organised, please ask them to review this. For them, this project might also be interesting, at least as a showcase of their work and a double check that in their release is what they intend to be in there.
