What I would like to see is an AI module for Space Fighters, which allows them to swoop around and have dogfights and stuff. And an AI for Capital Ships, which allows them to maneuver in space like the hulks they are and fire epic cannon salvos. Both AI's should be capable of performing orbital maneuvers to intercept targets and keep their orbits stable during combat (You want to be careful not to accidentally deorbit yourself.)
For space battles, I think the loading range should be about 100km -- reduced to 20km in low orbit.
